(DAYTON, OHIO) … In observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Greater Dayton RTA will run a Sunday service schedule on all routes on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
In addition, The Flyer will not run on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day in observance of the holidays. The RTA will run its regular Tuesday service hours on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and on New Year’s Eve on Tuesday, Dec. 31. RTA Connect Paratransit services will also follow the same timeframes of its weekend services through the holidays.
The RTA Customer Service Call Center will operate on a Sunday schedule, open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for both Christmas and New Year's Day, and regular weekday hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
Santa will be making a special appearance Christmas Eve aboard RTA’s holiday bus, giving children and their parents one last chance to let the big guy know what they want for Christmas. Santa will be aboard the holiday bus on Route X5 from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on Dec. 24. Then he’s off to get ready for the big day!
The holiday bus will continue running regular routes through Jan. 1. The festive gingerbread-themed bus features decorations inside and out, along with holiday music and candy canes. It will run on Route 12 on Christmas Day and Route 1 on Dec. 26. The entire Holiday Bus schedule can be found at www.iriderta.org/holidaybus.
