RTA calls press conference for 5:30pm for ATU strike update

(DAYTON, OHIO)… The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority will hold a press conference at 5:30 p.m. to update the public on operations following a strike by the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1385. The press conference will be held in the lobby of Wright Stop Plaza, 4 S. Main St., Dayton.
ATU members walked out effective 12:01 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 after the RTA was unable to reach a tentative agreement with the union for a successor contract. RTA, the union and a mediator met Sunday, and negotiators met again at Dayton City Hall on Sunday night. RTA is and will remain available to return to mediation at the request of the mediators.
