RTA Announces Service Updates Beginning on Sunday, August 14

(Dayton) …  The Greater Dayton RTA periodically adjusts bus service in response to the needs of customers, communities and businesses.  A service change affecting a few RTA routes will begin on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016. 

“We are once again making changes to help people who need to get to jobs,” said Director of Planning and Marketing Frank Ecklar.  “In some cases, trips have been adjusted to accommodate work schedules.”

 RTA customers seeking additional information regarding specific route changes and timing changes may log on to  www.i-riderta.org, click on “schedules” then choose their usual route under “Select A Route.”   Customers may also contact the call center at 425-8300 for more information on their specific route.   

August 14 - Service Update

Route 14 - Returned to regular routing using S. Broadway Street bridge to service Stubbs, Whispering and Sparks Drive loop.  Removed service to Spring Valley Academy.

 Route 18 -   Eliminated weekday southbound trips leaving Wright Stop Plaza at 7:13 p.m. & 11:00 p.m. as well as weekday northbound trip leaving 1st & Central at 8:06 p.m. due to shift time changes at the Fuyao facility in Moraine.

Adjusted routing to serve northbound stop closer to Fuyao facility on selected trips via left on Hoyle Place, right on Encrete Lane, left on Kettering Boulevard to regular routing.

Minor time adjustments were made on northbound and southbound, weekday and Saturday service.

Route 22-  Adjusted times between Downtown to Towne Center after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and all day on Sundays, northbound trips only. 

Route 43- Added a weekday southbound 5:45 p.m. trip leaving Proctor & Gamble.

Due to low ridership on trips:  eliminated the 5:16 a.m. weekday northbound deviation to Westown Transit Center, as well as the weekday northbound 7:36 p.m. and southbound 8:05 p.m. trip serving the Dayton International Airport. The weekday northbound 8:55 p.m. trip will end at the Dayton International Airport and return to Wright Stop Plaza southbound at 9:15 p.m.

Eliminated the Saturday southbound 3:54 a.m. trip serving Proctor & Gamble, the northbound 10:50 a.m. and southbound 11:13 a.m. trips. 

Eliminated the Sunday northbound 9:05 p.m. trip and the southbound 9:25 p.m. trip serving the Dayton International Airport.

Route 60Adjusted trip times 1- 6 minutes on all weekday trips between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to improve on time performance.

Route X5 – Route will return to regular routing of I-75, taking the First Street exit, continuing right on Perry Street, left on 3rd Street, then to regular routing.  Timing will be adjusted between 5:44 a.m. – 11:25 p.m., northbound trips only.
