RTA adjusts routes beginning August 13

(DAYTON, OHIO) … The Greater Dayton RTA periodically adjusts service in response to the needs of customers, communities and businesses and to improve the agency’s quality of service. A service change affecting several routes will begin Sunday, Aug. 13.
Some of the changes below include the elimination of early-morning trips. Customers should know on routes where these trips were eliminated, earlier trips are available. Please see updated route timetables on iriderta.org.
Route 1 – The 4:45 a.m. weekday westbound trip at Wright Stop Plaza was eliminated due to low usage. The 5:16 a.m. eastbound trip from Iona to Wright Stop Plaza was eliminated due to low usage, and the trip will now begin at 5:40 a.m. leaving from Wright Stop Plaza.
Route 2- The 3 p.m. trip from Meadowdale Drive moved to a 2:50 p.m. departure.
Route 4- The 4:48 a.m. weekday eastbound trip at Wright Stop Plaza and the 5:14 a.m. westbound trip to Wright Stop Plaza eliminated due to low usage. Westbound weekday trip will now start at 5:31 a.m. leaving from Wright Stop Plaza.
Adjusted running times by 2 minutes on westbound trips starting at 11:51 a.m. through 1:39 p.m. The westbound weekday trip at 2:45 p.m. from Wright Stop Plaza has been changed to 2:41 p.m.
With construction along Hoover Avenue complete, routes will now switch back to pre-detour times.
Route 7 – Weekday southbound trips at 4:49 a.m. and 5:58 p.m. at Wright Stop Plaza and weekday northbound trips at 5:08 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to Wright Stop Plaza have been eliminated due to low ridership. The weekday northbound 4:44 a.m. trip from Wayne/Wyoming stop to Patterson and weekday southbound 5:17 a.m. trip from Philadelphia Drive to Wright Stop Plaza also eliminated.
Route 8 – The weekday southbound 4:59 a.m. trip at the Germantown/Edwin C. Moses stop has been eliminated due to low ridership along with the 6:34 a.m. southbound trip at Wright Stop Plaza and return northbound trips to Wright Stop Plaza from Westown Transit Center at 5:21 a.m. and 7:03 a.m. The weekday northbound 4:46 a.m. trip at Wright Stop Plaza and the southbound 5:19 a.m. trip from Northwest Transit Center to Wright Stop Plaza also eliminated.
Route 18- Stop in the former Goodwill parking lot has been eliminated. Kuntz Road is still serviced.
Route 22- The following departure times have all been adjusted by 1 to 2 minutes: Weekday southbound departures from Town Center Drive at York Commons from 2:56 p.m. to 4:42 p.m.; weekday southbound departures from Wright Stop Plaza from 3:25 p.m. to 5:41 p.m.; weekday northbound departures from Wright Stop Plaza between 12:22 p.m. to 4:31 p.m.; weekday northbound departure from Gateway Shelter at 4:59 p.m.
The weekday northbound departure from Ohio Rehabilitation Center has been adjusted from 3:47 p.m. to 3:34 p.m. And the Saturday departure times from Town Center @ York Commons from 4:56 a.m. to 4:59 p.m. have been adjusted by 3 minutes.
Route 24- All weekday departure times from South, Northwest, and Westown Transit Centers in both directions have been adjusted by 1 to 4 minutes. The weekday southbound deviation to Central Avenue at Alex Bell Road at 1:24 p.m. has been eliminated. The Sunday 6:20 a.m. departure from Westown changed to 6:17 a.m. The Sunday departures from South Transit Center adjusted from 8:13 a.m.to 8:06 a.m., 10:43 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. and Sunday departure time from Meijer changed from 9:28 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.
Route 43 – The 6 a.m. weekday departure from Wright Stop Plaza now services Spectrum Brands and the Dayton International Airport along with P&G. The weekday departure from Wright Stop Plaza at 6:26 a.m. has been changed to 6:20 a.m. and no longer service Spectrum Brands and the Dayton International Airport. The departure from Wright Stop Plaza at 5 p.m. has been changed to 5:05 p.m. The weekday departure from Falls Creek Drive at 4:11 p.m. has been changed to 4:16 p.m. The weekday departure from Crossroads Courts and Falls Creek Drive at 3:34 p.m. has been changed to 3:40 p.m.
School trips (LS routes) – At the beginning of the Dayton Public Schools academic year, LS buses and extra buses will be back on the routes.
