Greater Dayton RTA Student Passes Now on Sale

For Immediate Release

CONTACT: Jessica Olson, Marketing Manager (937) 425-8352

(DAYTON, OHIO)…The Greater Dayton RTA student passes – both red and gray types – are now available for sale at four locations in the region.

“One of our most important jobs here at RTA is to transport students safely to and from school,” said RTA Director of Planning and Marketing Frank Ecklar. “To assist with that, we provide discounted student passes to students in grades nine through 12 each school year.”

Dayton Public Schools (DPS) does not provide transportation to students in grades nine through 12, with the exception of some students with special needs. Students and their families are responsible for arranging school transportation for students.

RTA has two types of passes available for purchase:

Red Pass -- $40 per calendar month. Red passes are valid only on school days from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Gray Pass -- $30 per calendar month. Gray student passes are valid only on school days from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Students needing RTA transportation only on occasion are encouraged to purchase discount tokens (10 tokens for $15).

Red and Gray student passes are for sale at four locations:

  • Wright Stop Plaza – ticket window
  • Dayton Cultural and RTA Transit Center on Edwin C. Moses Blvd.
  • RTA’s Northwest Transit Center on Shiloh Springs Road
  • Children’s Medical Center Gift Shop
