(DAYTON, OHIO)… All rides for active U.S. military members and veterans will be free on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, as the Greater Dayton RTA honors those who have served our country.
This free service includes fixed-route buses anywhere throughout the Dayton transit system as well as rides on RTA Connect, the agency’s ADA paratransit service. Anyone who is military active duty, discharged (DD-214), retired, reserve, or holds a VA identification card should show it to the driver upon boarding to receive a free ride on Veterans Day.
The RTA will be running on its regularly-scheduled service hours for the holiday. For schedule information, visit our website at www.iriderta.org. There you can also learn about RTA’s RideTime products, including how to download the Transit or Moovit app for free in the Google Play or App store to help schedule your trips and see real-time bus arrival times.
RTA is Ohio’s greenest fleet, and serves over 3,000 stops on 34 routes throughout Montgomery and parts of Greene County. The agency operates diesel, hybrid diesel, and electric trolley buses that take people to work, school and shopping. Customers ride RTA on more than 9 million passenger trips each year. RTA is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service as the region’s first choice for alternative transportation.
