(DAYTON, OHIO)… As the Greater Dayton RTA upgrades its buses and display system to report real-time bus arrival and departure times to customers, the displays in the agency’s transit centers will be temporarily switched to report scheduled times only.
This means all monitors inside Wright Stop Plaza will temporarily report scheduled arrival and departure times only beginning July 29. All arrival and departure times on displays at the transit center will be estimates based on RTA’s route schedule. Customers should be on the platform at least five minutes prior to the bus’s scheduled arrival in order to compensate for this change to ensure proper boarding.
RTA is in the process of upgrading its bus fleet with new technology that will allow its vehicles to report real-time arrival information. This upgrade is expected to be completed in Fall 2016, and will include RTA’s 158 fixed-route and 90 Project Mobility buses. Once complete, the system will allow all transit center displays to report real-time arrival and departure information minute by minutes as well as provide access to customers about when their bus is arriving via the new RTA RideTime app and text alerts. More information will be available on the real-time system this fall.
To find schedule information, visit www.iriderta.org or pick up a route schedule at one of RTA’s five transit centers: Wright Stop Plaza, Eastown, Northwest, South and Westown Transit Centers.
RTA is Ohio’s greenest fleet, and serves 3,300 stops on 31 routes throughout Montgomery and parts of Greene County.
