Franz Hoge

Franz is the retired Managing Partner of the Dayton office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), formerly Coopers & Lybrand LLP. He began his career in 1966 in the New York office after graduating from The City College of New York. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years, primarily overseas. He resumed his career in September of 1968 and advanced through various positions of increased responsibilities and was admitted to the Coopers & Lybrand partnership in 1977. In 1980, he was named the Managing Partner of the Dayton Office.
While a partner in the New York office, Franz was the Chairman of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Federal Contracts Committee and the Firm’s National Industry Chairman for the not-for-profit practice. In addition to those responsibilities, he was the engagement partner on the international operations of AT&T, the Loral Corporation, various Rockefeller accounts, Brown Brothers Harriman and Company, Schroeder Bank, Dresdner Bank and many others.
In Dayton, besides being the Managing Partner, Franz was the industry leader for the Emerging Business Practice for the Columbus, Cincinnati, Lexington, Louisville and Indianapolis offices. In addition, he was the engagement partner on Scitex Digital Printing, Monarch Machine Tool
Company, Dupps Company, LM Berry & Company, United Aircraft Products, Winters National Bank and subsequently Bank One, Mike-Sell’s Potato Chip Company and many others.
Franz helped develop the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Statement of Position 78-10, Accounting Principles and Reporting Practices for Certain Nonprofit Organizations and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Audit and Accounting Guide: Audit of Certain Nonprofit Organizations.In addition, he spoke at various professional organizations throughout the United States and was involved in the development and teaching of many of the Firm’s training programs.
